Here’s a quick hit article with tips on making positive changes in our daily life. Positive life lessons teach us to respect ourselves, others, life, and our environment.
A genuine desire to make a difference is all it takes.
By Martha Doyle van Antwerp –
Life has taught me that the more unhappy I am with my circumstances, and the longer I walk around with a ‘Suffering Sally’ attitude, the less time and patience I will have for my fellow people and daily tasks. It is when I have cleared my head and enclosed myself with a cloak of calmness, love and kindness, that I am happier and have more patience. The less I will become upset.
Intolerant, egotistical and irritated attitude can be seen in the way I drive my car; and the respect or lack thereof which I show to others is evident in the responsible or irresponsible way which I go through life.

Seek the little place deep within yourself where you will find peace:
We all dream of utopia where love, respect and caring is present; however, we expect others to change their way of thinking to accommodate ourselves, without us changing to accommodate them.
The first step to success, healing and new habits always starts with you. Seek the little place deep within yourself where you will find peace, and begin living with thankfulness and love. When you begin to see and live in life’s joys, you identify with a need to be caring and patient as you go through each and every day.
All we need is a genuine desire to make a difference – no matter where we are.

FINDING CONTENTMENT:
Sometimes the stresses of every day can see our personality change to the negative. Here’s a few tips on how to get a daily positive edge:
- Slow down and enjoy everything you do. Pay attention – focus – instead of thinking about other distractions.
- Sprinkle simple pleasures throughout your day. Know what your simple pleasures are, and put a few of them in each day.
- Be kind and understanding – Speak with kind words, and respect that you live in diverse society.
- Make frugality an enjoyable thing – instead of delayed gratification, try enjoying life now while saving for later.
- Be thankful for the basics: food, shelter, family, friends, a job. Make a list of all these things present in your life so that you can see how truly blessed you are.
- Volunteer! Not only will you feel like a different person, but it will also put life in a new perspective.
Be Yourself:
- List the things you like about yourself.
- List the things you are not good at.
- Choose not to worry constantly about what others think of you.
- List those things you need to work on.
- Be open and honest – you don’t need to be able to do everything or pretend to like something just because others do.
- Relax! Learn to laugh at yourself.
- Believe in yourself.
- List your strengths – ask someone else if you are unsure.
- Accept yourself as you are physically.
- Buy one item of clothing that reflects your personality and wear it with confidence.
- Love yourself. ■ TMLM
