What is the secret to a great meal? A fabulous drink, of course!

  • We have found the perfect tonic to help you unwind after a satisfying meal. Any guesses? It’s tea!

How about those long lazy afternoons when you wish for SOMETHING and you haven’t quite put your finger on it, but you know that you want to drink it now. And then suddenly you have the long-awaited light bulb moment. Your thirst has spoken, and it is time to enjoy the coveted beverage.

Bottoms Up! It's Tea o'Clock

Yes, tea. Although it is sometimes presented in other forms; if it is in a neat little bag attached to a piece of string and a tag, we call it tea, but in this instance, we are actually talking infusion – or the result of soaking tea bags in water.

Yep. Whether you call it tea or infusion or both, drink it hot or not and you will soon find yourself getting hooked and loving it as a daily tonic. If you are not already a connoisseur of most, or all things infusion, here are a few pointers to becoming a dedicated and confirmed lover of all that is… er, infusion. Sounds confusing? Don’t be. Tea is the dry stuff. Infusion is the liquid stuff we love. But as we know, everybody calls it tea – whether it is infused or not.

A hot drink is easy to make but we are more interested in a cold infusion – commonly known as ‘ice tea‘. To be precise, we love ice tea, especially during or after lunch. So, we went in search of great ice tea recipes, and the Teekanne Hot Love infusion grabbed top honors.

In keeping with the German gastronomy theme, we selected this tea because of its high standard of quality, refreshingly fruity aroma and flavor, and ability to blend perfectly with additions such as sugar, mint and honey. A great way to enjoy this infusion comes in the form of an irresistible icy drink:

8 Tea Bags TEEKANNE Hot Love
400 ml Water
2 Tablespoons of Powdered Sugar
4 Lemon Slices
Crushed Ice
Tonic Water

How to prepare:

Pour boiling water over the tea bags and brew for 8 minutes. Remove the tea bags and add the powdered sugar. Leave to cool.

Put the lemon slices into long-drink glasses with crushed ice and fill it up with tea (infusion) and tonic water. Serve immediately.

To your health!  Gesundheit!
